A message to my supporters

When I first started in the music business my

only ambition was to spend a life earning a living

out of playing my guitar.  I have been very lucky

to able to do this so far, even though there have

been plenty of ups and downs over the years.It

was never my ambition to be a 'rock star' or even

"well-known',as I am a fairly private person and not

too keen on being in the spotlight, so I have been

happy playing my own music to a 'small but appre-

ciative' audience. This is where you come in!

Because,without you I would not be able to continue,

so I would like to take this opportunity to say to all

the people who listen to my music that I very much

appreciate your interest and  support.Thank you.

In 2010 komt de Snowy White Blues Project terug naar

Nederland.Voorlopig zijn er twee shows geprogrammeerd,

op vrijdag 19 februari in de Boerderij te Zoetermeer,en op

donderdag 13 mei in het Mezz te Breda.

Snowy White is een blues georiënteerde gitarist wiens sound,

techniek en stijl klinkt als de originele blues maar dan met de

passie van de classic rock.De Britse gitaarvirtuoos werd vooral

bekend als (gast)gitarist van Pink Floyd en Roger Waters,met

wie Snowy over de hele wereld tourde.Verder speelde hij samen

met Peter Green, Thin Lizzy (officieel bandlid tussen 1979 en 1981),

Gary Moore, Chris Rea en David Gilmour. Ook solo maakte Snowy

White naam. Zijn grootste naamsbekendheid verwierf hij met het

tijdloze ‘Bird of Paradise’, wat een wereldwijde megahit werd in 1984.

 

Zijn stijl wordt vaak vergeleken met die van Mark Knopfler en Andy Latimer. Er zijn duidelijke bluesinvloeden in zijn muziek,maar sommige nummers kunnen makkelijk onder de noemer progressieve rock vallen.

In 2007 en 2008 tourde hij nog met Roger Waters de hele wereld

over met zijn Dark Side of the Moon tournee.

 

Nadat hij klaar was met de Dark Side Of The Moon-tour met

Roger Waters herontdekte Snowy White zijn blues roots.Samen

met zijn trouwe kameraad op drums Juan Van Emmerloot,basgitarist

Ruud Weber Jr. en gitarist Matt Taylor begon hij met het opnemen

van een aantal nummers.Dat resulteerde in het album,

In Our Time Of Living.

 

 

De 3 frontmannen nemen elk de leadzang voor hun rekening en de

band ontwikkelde een nieuwe dynamiek.Hun nummers varieëren

van het rauwe Can't Get Enough Of The Blues tot een subtiele

versie op de akoestische gitaar van de klassieker van Skip James

'I'm So Glad'. Hun live show staat natuurlijk garant voor heerlijke bluesavond!
