Gelredome  in Arnhem is uitverkocht en men heeft

besloten een extra concert te geven op 9 april 2011.

A Snowy White Blues Project live album is

being mixed and will be released in September .

 

New Snowy White Blues Project Live Album.

The new Snowy White Blues Project live album

is being mixed and we are currently putting the

artwork together.The album was recorded live

in at Cultuurpodium Boerderij in Zoetermeer,

Holland in February 2010 and features our

new drummer Roy Martin.

It will be distributed by Soul Food Distribution

in Germany and we are currently negotiating it's

distribution in the UK, Benelux, Spain, Sweden,

Eastern Europe and possibly France and Italy.

             Les Paul -Live 2005 

 

Les Paul

Les Paul's death a few months ago was not unexpected,

after all,he was getting on a bit, but still it's always sad

when anyone dies, even if they are in their eighties. He

was a very big influence on the popularity of the guitar,

making it an instrument that had a massive range of sounds

and, more importantly, the ability to develop and

metamorphose into whatever the individual player wanted

it to be.

 

I met Les Paul a couple of times, once in Seville and, more

recently, in New York. I was playing with Roger Waters in

Madison Square Gardens and we had a free Monday night,

which was the night the Les Paul always appeared in his usual

spot in a small club near Central Park. Our tour manager rang

the club and arranged entry for me and the other two White

Flames Band members, Walter and Juan.

 

We were met by Les's son who said that Les would like to meet

me so we were ushered in to the tiny dressing room. We had a

quick chat (I'm not one for hanging around other people's

dressing rooms) and Les suggested that I maybe I could come

up and play a little bit. I told him it was my night off and I was

just there to hear him play so I'd be happy just to sit and listen.

I figured he was not the sort of guy to take no for an answer so

I sat right at the back by the mixer in the semi-darkness hoping

that he'd forget about me. I enjoyed listening to his stories and

his playing, and he had a great band with him.

 

Well, he didn't forget about me and later, even though I was

pretty reluctant, he called me up on stage, put his guitar in my

hands and went and sat down in the audience.I wasn't sure what

to play but it felt very comfortable up there and the guitar felt

very familiar, so I did a little bluesy thing on my own, and was just thinking that I'd stop when the band joined in and so then I had

to play for a  bit longer! It seemed to go down ok with the audience.Les was kind and generous and  it was a very enjoyable experience.
